"You Are A Star!" Advent/Christmas project

Felt star This year we are inviting people to make knitted, crocheted, fabric or felt stars to hand out to members of the public or to leave in public places for people to pick up during December. Each star will and have a tag attached with the "You are a Star" message and a QR code to direct the recipient to information about church services in the local area during the Christmas period.

Please pick up a pattern in church.

We will also make these stars the focus of our online Advent calendar this year. Each day on our Facebook page there will be a short message about star qualities , a picture of some of our crafted stars and a prayer. Help with writing these short prayers would also be appreciated if you feel inspired to do so.

And finally, we plan to display all of our stars on a tree at the Christmas Tree Festival (see below) and bless them during worship that Sunday before giving them out. So look out for them during that weekend.

Christmas Tree Festival

Come and join us on the weekend of 28th-30th November to view our wonderful annual collection of decorated Christmas trees! Our theme this year is "Christmas Experiences".  Many of our church groups and individual congregation members decorate their trees every year, but there is always room for more trees if you would like to contribute one of your own. Trees ideally usually remain on display right through the Christmas period unless you prefer to take yours down beforehand.

  • Thursday 27th November - tree set up between 18.00-19.00
  • Friday 28th September - Come and view the trees by fairy light between 18.30-20.00 and join us for mulled wine (non-alcoholic), mince pies and other light refreshments.
  • Saturday 29th November - 09.30-12.00 - Christmas coffee morning with various stalls (books, cakes, jigsaws, raffle, Christmas themed Tombola and children's Christmas craft activities as well as refreshments. The Serengeti Band will also help get you in the Christmas mood.
  • Sunday 30th November - Sunday morning worship among the trees 10.30am.
