Home Groups
Our church runs two home groups, both on Tuesdays but at different times of the day. Each is organised by a different member of the congregation. Here's what the organisers have to say about each of their groups.
Tuesday morning Home Group
Our morning homegroup meets at 10.15am on the second Tuesday of each month with extra sessions for Advent and Lent. We meet in members' homes for bible study and prayer, and always start with cake! New joiners welcome - please get in touch.
Tuesday evening Home Group
We are an informal group who currently meet in a church member's house in Chipping Sodbury. We explore the bible in various ways, and are currently studying Women in the Bible (based on the book by Max Lucado, Ten Women of the Bible).
We meet on a Tuesday evening from 7.30 -9.30pm setting aside a time of prayer and study followed by a time of fellowship. The evening ends at various times depending on the discussion. We are open to ideas from within the group on the Bible topic we study as well as which member of the group is happy to lead the conversation.
Everyone is encouraged to read from the Bible or the study material making it a truly inclusive group. There are no right of wrong answers to the questions the study provokes, just exploration and discussion on the chosen Bible reading or study subject.
The best way to describe our house group is an informal time of study, often Spirit driven, which means if the Spirt of the Lord empowers us the discussion can evolve in different directions, sometimes away from the planned topic.
During the time of Advent and Lent we undertake specific bibles studies for those seasons.
