A look back at recent events
Sensory Nativity
In this interactive service we used all 5 of our senses to experience a little of what it might have been like to be part of the Christmas story. Here are some of the many things we experienced:
We used our sight to gaze at a star and to look upon the cradle in which the Baby Jesus was laid.
We used our sense of touch to feel the wool of the lamb that the shepherds gifted to Jesus, and the silk of the wise men's robes, and the sand on which the camels would have walked.
We used our hearing to listen to the knocking on the door of the inn in Bethlehem, and the trumpet fanfare of the angels, and the stillness of the stable.
We used our sense of smell to smell the straw in the stable and the rich perfume that the wise men gifted to Jesus.
And finally we used our sense of taste to savour a chocolate coin as a symbol of the treasured gift of our Lord Jesus Christ.
There was a lot of clearing up to do afterwards! Also featured are a few of the many trees from our Christmas Tree Festival which have brightened our church throughout the whole of December.

Advent Star Project
In December we collected over 250 of the stars that you crafted. We displayed them on one of our trees at the Christmas Tree Festival. Then we photographed them in different settings for our online Advent calendars on this website and our FaceBook page featuring star qualities and celebrating the stars in our lives. And finally we distributed them around Yate, Chipping Sodbury and the surrounding area as gifts for people who found them. If you found one please get in touch via our email address below and tell us where you found it and what it means to you. We would love to hear from you!

Link to Hope shoe box appeal
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed so generously to this year's shoe box appeal. Between us all we managed to fill 8 shoe boxes, 4 for families and 4 for the elderly. They will all be sent to eastern Europe as Christmas gifts for those who would otherwise get little or nothing for Christmas.
And thank you too to all those who knitted blankets/squares, hats, scarves and hand puppets which Link to Hope will pack between the shoe boxes on their journey and then distribute them along with the boxes on arrival.
Before sending all of these item so their way they were blessed during our Sunday morning service and our prayers will travel with them.

Crafting morning 25th October 2025
Thank you to all the people who helped us make stars for our Advent project. We had a really fun couple of hours of knitting, sewing, crocheting, felting and chatting over a cuppa on 25th October. And we are also grateful for the fantastic donations of stars received so far from people who have been crafting at home. We look forward to future donations.

Harvest Festival 12th October 2025
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our coffee morning, helped decorate our church so beautifully and donated so generously to our Harvest appeal. The goods we collected were shared between Turnaround Bristol and our local Food Bank.
Thank you to Naomi Sharp for a fun and interactive service during which we spelled out "Love your neighbour" in tinned goods.
And thank you too to our catering team who prepared and served our lovely soup and pudding Harvest lunch. A wonderful weekend of fun and fellowship, worship and charity.
