Inclusion

Inclusive Church logoInclusive Church Statement

Yate Methodist Church holds Inclusive Church status but what does that mean?

We are committed to making our church as inclusive as possible. For us, this means listening to, and learning from those who have felt unable to attend church for any reason. We strive to make adjustments to make our services and our church building in to a welcoming and accessible place. (For more details on this, see our inclusion and accessibility tabs ).

We have agreed as a church to welcome and affirm LGBT+ identities. We are licenced for same-sex wedding ceremonies and are involved with Christians at Bristol Pride.

We hold all-age worship twice a month, an interactive way to dive deeper into the service for everyone.

We are also registered as a Single Person Friendly church. We recognise and welcome all who might be considered single for any reason, including those who are not married, those who are not in a relationship, those who are single parents, those who attend worship on their own despite having family or a partner, and those who feel alone for any other reason. We hope you will not feel alone among our congregation.

Whether you join us on a Sunday morning, on our Facebook Page or at any of our events and clubs, we’d love to hear more about you.

Overall, we want to help people from all backgrounds to connect with God. We aren’t perfect but we are learning! We believe God is for everyone and will do our best to make all feel welcome and included.
