Baptisms

In the Methodist Church we recognise baptism (sometimes called a Christening) as an entry into the 'One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church' and we offer baptism to both adults and young children. 

Baptism is a gift of God and usually takes place within the normal Sunday morning act of worship.

For those who would prefer to wait until their child is old enough to decide for themselves when/whether to be baptised, you may want to consider as an alternative and Act of Thanksgiving. This is a way of thanking God for the safe arrival of a child and an opportunity for parents to express and celebrate their love for that child in God's presence.
