Church roles and Duties

We have a number of volunteer roles, big and small, that help keep our church running. We encourage everyone to be involved if they feel comfortable/able and offer support to anyone who wants to help but isn't sure where to start. Whether you take part in the service or volunteer your time behind the scenes, every little bit is appreciated!

Roles include:

Welcome Stewards- Greet people at the door, help them feel welcome and be a friendly face.

Service Stewards- Assist the preacher, deliver the notices at the start of the service, set up the church and receive the offering.

Communion Stewards- Prepare Communion and help deliver it to the congregation.

Readers- Deliver the Bible readings. Readings will be given to readers in advance and can be typed to meet accessibility needs.

Prayers- Write and deliver prayers of intercession in the service.

Audio Visual Desk- Set up our live stream, control what goes up on our screens and balance the sound.

Refreshments- Serve tea and coffee after the service (and stay to wash up!)

Flower Rota- Purchase and arrange flowers to decorate the church on a Sunday morning.
